The Guero hot pepper (a.k.a. Santa Fe Grande chile pepper and the yellow hot chili pepper) is a very prolific cultivar. With sweet flavor, mild heat, and vibrant color, the guero pepper is a favorite in the American Southwest – both in the kitchen and for ornamental planting.

Also, guero is a term used to describe anyone with a lighter skin complexion. In Mexico, and in other Spanish speaking countries, it is often a term of endearment used to describe men with lighter skin complexions. The feminine form is guera.
